Which Irish Goddess is calling you most deeply?

  • Brigid, The Once & Future Queen

Brigid, my heart. Keeper of the flame and bringer of the new Dawn. Prophesied one... bright one... shining one. Magdalene woman of Ireland, Mary of the Gaels. You called me to open my heart. You called me to shatter the glass encasement around it, shards of light piercing through. You taught me to listen and to remember who I am. Daughter of the Cup. Lantern bearer. Crafter, poet, alchemist. You called me to your holy well, to your flowing river. You called me there again and again, rainbows showing the way. You pierced my heart over and over. Until I surrendered fully to call myself your priestess, your sister. You called me to your land, this Emerald Isle. You called me home. And here I am. I am here. I am here. I am here. In sacred service, devotion to this land. In holy Love, with codes of Light and Life. O blessed be. Gabhaim molta Brighide. Grá mo chroi.

  • Mhuire: Mother, Magdalene, Priestess

Rose of Ireland, your love is our refuge. Daughter of Shalom, Dove of Peace, you receive the ocean of tears and give hope in return. Transfiguring pain to joy, you give beauty for ashes. Crossroad guardian, holy well shimmering, chapel candles flaming, prayers flung up to heaven, tower of fire, breath of Shekhinah. Who but you can contain the heart of Ireland in your robes? Who but you can soothe the furrowed brows of your children? Who but you can shine the miraculous light of Life through the darkness, O Star of the Sea. Moon Woman, Dragon Foot, Gentle Mother, Fierce Joy. O She of 10,000 Names, you carry each of us in your heart. You call us by our own names. And we carry your name: Mary Kate, Mary Winifred, Mary Gage. And with your breath of life, we are made new once more, rebirthed in grace from your holy womb. Shlomlech Maryam, B'shem Maryam, Ahava.

  • Bóinne: The Flowing Fountain of Life

Thanks be to Bóinne, river of mystery, keeper of wisdom, goddess of kairos. The flowing curves of your life-blood hug the mounds and stones of the valley you call home. What secrets lie beneath these sacred hills, these stones carved, these trees, these birds, these fish? The answer lies in one tiny being: a hazelnut. A fish passed beneath a tree and received a nut into the portal of his mouth, wisdom infusing his flesh. A boy caught the fish and received the sacred flesh into the portal of his mouth. The nut in his belly grew into a sacred tree and rooted into the land, gifting its wisdom into the underground rivers. The tree's ancient wood-flesh melted into the portal of the earth. Wise ones came, and built a sacred mound there, and Sun codes flowed into the portal of its mouth. And so in each perfect moment does the wheel of life ever flow.

  • Tree Spirits: The Faerie Woods

O holy trees of Ireland, keepers of ancient wisdom, watching over this land, we honor you. Sacred Triad of Oak, Ash, Thorn, guardians ever anchoring strength and courage, magic and mystery, love and beauty. The Holly King of winter, berry-bright. Seven Birch Sisters, rising up from ashes, heralds of new life. Lady Beech and Willow swaying in the winds of change. Alder, Elder, Hazel; Wise Ones all. And Dark Mother Yew, ever guarding the portal to the Otherworld. O Faerie Apple Queen, O Druid Rowan Lord, we enter the forest in reverence, with silent footfalls, greeting your beings and joining our heartbeats in the dance of the sunlight shafts shining through the leaves; soft moss and secret crevices, where we leave gifts for you. Peace be with you, peace we bring, peace we ask, O Standing Ones. Peace. Peace. Peace, we sing with you. Peace everlasting, peace evermore. Shalom.

  • An Cailleach: Ancient Stone Grandmother

Sing your heart to Old Dark Mother, o little silver seeker... glittering starlight, quartz sparkling in mountain boulders. You made these lands, Ancient One. The stones we use to mark time, solidify moments, came tumbling down from your great hands, like sand crystals in an hourglass. Boulders are as pebbles to you; hawthorn trees as flower buds. You stride across the land, stars in your hair, feet creating lakes as you dance, pounding waves against cliff faces, wind whipping as you whirl, O WIld Woman! Circle and circle and circle, the stones half buried yet pulsing still with power, time immemorial on these sacred hills. You create, You destroy, You laugh as Kali's diamond cuts the kite string; we fly free and the crows dance with us, calling us home. Remember... the place of the Ancient Palace... remember, for we have been here before...and we shall gather here once more. Séa! It is so.

  • Áine, the Sun Queen

    Hail Áine! Beautiful Bright One, our shining Star. Sun Queen, you grace this land with bounty in Summer, those long days which balance the endless dark dreaming time of Winter. Hail to you, who infuses this Earth with light and life. Who sparkles in a million million fractals, turning water into the elixir of life just by infusing the droplets with your love-codes; transfiguring the fluid in our crystals, and in our wombs. Who allows us glimpses of the magic of the unseen, the truth of light merged with clouds (the truth of us reflected in your sky-eyes), as your love rains down as holy tears, fire and water alchemizing into the Rainbow. Arcing down to kiss your land, to kiss my eyes, where gold meets blue... diamond light flashing on water's glowing face. In this moment, your magic sings in my heart, my blood sparking... your sacred waters in this sacred vessel. {Blessed Be}

  • Queen Maebh: Keeper of Portals

Maebh the Powerful, my ancestor, raven queen. You, like all other Bright Fire Queens, also have a dark sister. And She is Tlachtga. I see you both now, dancing in the flames of the need-fire. Holding the threshold veils open at the turning of the year. Bealtaine and Samhain, Summer and Winter, Light and Dark... they are one and the same, are they not? As you travel back and forth in ceremonial glory across your land, leading the troops and guiding the way, receiving tribute and celebrating far into the night, you also hold a deeper truth. The flame of the bonfire IS the portal. And to pass through, we must meet you, and honor you, and truly submit to you. Because the changing of the season brings changes within, a stripping down, a purifying and a cleansing. So we can be ready to face the new, when it's time. Rose-hip Queen, you nourish us in bursting fullness. And we bow before you, and you bow in return.

  • Macha, Commander of Truth

Macha, the one who would not be left out, I honor you now. Breaker of chains, loosener of bindings, riding, running, faster than the wind, the breath of Wisdom flowing from your mouth as you teach and curse those who do not see you, those who would constrain you. Queen of Ulster, Queen of the Northern lands, Queen of the hills. Mother of the twins, Ireland North and Ireland Republic... separated at birth, shall they ever be reunited, as they were within your sacred womb? O wise Macha, teach us blessed freedom. Teach us to speak truth, with compassion and kindness. Teach us mercy, that we may not fall from grace. Teach us humility, that we may not boast beyond our own gifts. Teach us patience, that we may wait for the perfect time of reunion. Teach us to ride the winds, at one with the birds who fly free. Teach us to remember that we, too, have wings.

  • Tuatha dé Danann: The Shining Ones

Far beneath the surface, deep in crystalline caves, another world exists. Ssshhh... listen. Can you hear? Tinkling laughter, otherworldly music, whispers of beauty emanating upwards and outwards on the breath of the Earth. Stories... legends... secrets, all held in the Book of Time, kept in the sacred library, held by the Shining Ones. Mother Dánu's children, ancient caretakers of the Celtic lands, sweeping East to West along the River of Life, they came; and at last rested in Tír na nÓg, Land of Youth, the Western waters. Like the setting Sun sinking into the sea each night, so too the Shining Ones shone over the land for a time, and then surrendered with holy grace into the underworld. And there they live, even now. How shall we honor You, our Tuatha, our tribe? By stepping lightly on the roof of your land. By dancing, singing, offering our love and our joy to the animals and the plants. By believing.

  • Éiru: Sovereign of Ireland

A message from Éiru: For you who feel the voice of My land reverberating in your heart, know I am calling you here. The work of My daughters and My sons is awakening this land to sovereignty once more. You feel this, I know. You are being called to uphold the sacredness of this land. Will you embrace this calling? Remember, you have said yes before... Do not be afraid. Say yes again and again. And know that I am Here. The ground beneath your feet, the air that you breathe, the water that flows within and without you, the light which illuminates the truth. I attune you. I AM YOU. Clasp Me to your breast, feel Me in your center. Dance with Me, offer yourself to Me. You are awakening, My children. And I awaken with you. Sovereignty lives on, in the land and in your hearts. This sacred land receives you. Root into Me. For we are all roots of the One Tree. One in the One Heart. In Divine Union. Sovereign. Home.

Emerald Circle Excursion

For an Excursion, we'll be together for about 6 hours (or 24 hours for sites that are further afield). I will open our circle and share the Sacred Story of the site and its Goddess energy. We’ll have plenty of time to wander, listen and commune with the land. Our excursion culminates with a ritual, activity or offering; a tea and snack break; and the closing blessing of our circle. Some Excursion options:

  • Mother Mary is venerated around Ireland, and Our Lady's Island in Co. Wexford is one of the most ancient and holy sites of Marian pilgrimage in Ireland. The island was also the home of a group of female druids in pre-Christian times. We will walk the ancient pilgrimage route around the lake, commune with the swans who live here, and visit the two holy wells on this site.

  • The Powerscourt Estate in the heart of Co. Wicklow (an area known as the garden of Ireland) is a gorgeous property with extensive gardens and forests. We'll wander the woodlands, following the poetic path of the Ogham tree alphabet, and learn why this alphabet has been connected to the Goddess Éiru, the Tuatha dé Danann, and the Bard Amergin. Myth or truth? Let's explore and discover!

On an expanded immersion, we might visit the Powerscourt waterfall, a majestic natural site and the highest waterfall in Ireland.

  • Glendalough, a spectacular Celtic Christian site in the Wicklow Mountains, is named for its two lakes (Glendalough means between the lakes). Though the Monastic City (the ruins of the monastery) is the advertised attraction, there's so much more to this place of natural wonder. Let's see if we can find the stone circle and the holy well, and the spirit of the Goddess Éiru in the mountain landscape.

1-2 sites

Emerald heart immersion

For an Immersion, we'll be together for 48 or 72 hours. I will open our circle and share the Sacred Story of the site and its Goddess energy. We’ll have plenty of time to leisurely roam the site(s) and listen to the land speak to us. When possible, we’ll connect with an Irish Wisdom Keeper for more in-depth learning. Our immersion culminates with a ritual, activity or offering; a celebratory lunch; and the closing blessing of our circle. Some Immersion options:

  • Brigid is unique in Ireland in that she is both an ancient goddess and a patron saint; keeper of Flame and Well. Her Celtic Christian-era monastery was in Co. Kildare, and on our visit we will experience the holy well, the remains of the fire temple, and the home of the current eternal flame of Brigid, which is tended by the Brigantine nuns.

On an expanded immersion, we might visit Faughart in Co. Louth, which is the birthplace of Brigid.

  • The Cailleach, ancient grandmother of Winter, rests in the magical woodlands of Blarney Castle in Co. Cork. Together we'll seek Her power in the dolmens, majestic trees, caves and rivers winding through one of Ireland's most famous castle sites.

On an expanded immersion, we might visit the Hag Stone on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork, one of the jewels of the Wild Atlantic Way along the West coast of Ireland. Or the Hag Chair and Story Stone at Loughcrew Cairns in Co. Meath, in Ireland's Ancient East.

  • Tucked away in the heart of the Shannon River valley lies the ancient site of Lough Gur and its surrounds, including Knockainey or Áine's Hill. We'll marvel at the light of Áine the Sun Queen (also known as Ireland's Lady of the Lake) sparkling on the pristine waters of the lake, with the hills rising up behind it, mirroring the Tor of Avalon. Climb the hillside to find the ruins of a settlement. Visit a wedge tomb, and dance in the largest stone circle in Ireland, Grange Stone Circle.

3 or more sites

Emerald heart pilgrimage

We'll be together for as long as you would like. At our first site, I will open our circle and share the Sacred Story of the site and its Goddess energy. At each site we visit, the story will continue to weave and unfold. We’ll roam the sites and listen to the land speak to us, and also to visit some towns and their shops, cafes and museums. When possible, we’ll connect with an Irish Wisdom Keeper for more in-depth learning. Our pilgrimage includes rituals, activities and/or offerings, and the closing blessing of our circle. Some Pilgrimage options:

  • Queen Maedb's Royal Site in the province of Connacht is not only the seat of her power, it said to be the place where Halloween (Samhain) originated. We'll walk the lands where the Bealtaine Assemblies were held; view what some say is Maedb's REAL tomb; and (for the truly courageous) enter the womb of the earth through Oweynagat, the Cave of the Cats, emerging reborn.

Continuing our pilgrimage, we might visit Carrowmore Megalithic Cemetery, Ireland's largest concentration of neolithic tombs. A centerpiece of the area is Queen Maedb's Cairn, visible atop the Knocknarea mountain. And we might seek Queen Maebh's dark sister Tlachtga in her sacred site of the Hill of Ward in Co. Meath.

  • Known as the "sacred center" of Ireland, the Hill of Uisneach marks the secret fifth province of Ireland, the Mide or middle. Nearby stands the Hill of Tara, where the king-making and other important festivals occurred in the time of the Druids. The Hill of Uisneach is the feminine center of the land, home of Éiru, the Goddess of Sovereignty of Ireland. We'll meet Éiru and Her sisters, Banba and Fódla at the Stone of Divisions as we commune with and offer our gratitude and devotion to this holy place.

Continuing our pilgrimage, we might visit the river goddess Bóinne in the Brú na Bóinne valley, home of the famous passage womb-tombs of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, as well as Fourknocks Passage Tomb, Loughcrew Cairns and more.

  • Another Goddess or site may be calling you...let's explore where she is leading us! Might we venture up into Ulster, Macha’s lands in the North of Ireland? Or to visit the dragons in Co. Mayo? What about Brigit's Garden in Co. Galway? The Faerie Ring of Co. Kerry or the caves of Co. Clare?

Yet another way to craft your journey is around your family heritage, or to honor a life transition. Consider incorporating a fact-finding mission or a ritual, such as:

~ The place(s) your Irish ancestors lived

~ A place you’d like to do an individual blessing or ceremony

~ A place you’d like to scatter the ashes of a loved one

Offer the gift of yourself ~ Receive the gifts of this land

a Travel Companion is…

A unique combination of a Tour Guide, a Planner and a Celebrant, with the soul of a Poet, the enthusiasm of a Cheerleader, and the devotion of a Priestess.

Hello, I’m Daria…So nice to meet you!

It’s been a beautiful journey to becoming a sacred travel companion. In my former life as a wedding planner, it was my joy to craft calm, fun and love-centered events, as I supported my couples and their families logistically and emotionally through a pivotal life experience.

As a wedding officiant and celebrant, I believe in the power of ritual and ceremony to honor and witness times of transition and major life events. And as one who is walking the priestess path, I live my life in devotion, awe and wonder.

After years of full-time traveling throughout the US and Europe, my husband and I chose to make our home here in Ireland. Now, I have the joy of accompanying soul friends to the sacred sites and natural wonders of Ireland, as a tour guide and travel companion.

  • "This was my first visit to Ireland, and I wanted to "feel" the spirit, magic, and history of the land, and have the time and space for integration. Daria crafted a unique experience tailored exactly to my desires and interests, and then led me through it with care and devotion."

    Barbara Jones

  • "Daria's presence and her ability to hold you in her sacred space is honestly something that needs to be experienced to be completely understood. I was able to open to the divinity of the land, and maintain that sacred connection within my heart long after returning home."

    Barbara Jones

  • "You are truly the reason that I had such a phenomenal experience. I cannot thank you enough for everything while I was there, and for all the reassurance and help with prep before I got there."

    Zoe Love

  • "Thank you for such a delightful first visit to Ireland! You put so much thought and care into making our time meaningful. We will carry home memories from this that will last a lifetime."

    Jacelyn and Kate Reed

a Tour is a Sacred Circle…

'Tour' stems from the word 'turn,' and means a circuit, or a journey. When we venture out on pilgrimage together, we are in a sacred circle.

why I believe in Sacred Travel…

I am dedicated to honoring the journey of life, and the place we are in each “now” moment. Sacred Travel means to go on pilgrimage, in a way that is not just "consuming" the place as a tourist, but being present in a reciprocal way.

In my years of living and traveling all over this island, Ireland has taught me that it takes time to sink into her essence, to see beyond the surface and unearth her hidden beauty. And when you glimpse the inner sanctum, her emerald heart, you are blown away by her majesty.

I am so grateful to be a guide and companion to those who come here (as I did) with a knowing in their hearts that they need to be here, but aren't sure why, or where to go, or what to see, or how to manage it all. What a blessing to share the real, deep, true magic of this land with you, dear friend. I can’t wait to see what unfolds on our journey!

“There are two ways of living one’s life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

~ Albert Einstein

I choose the miracle, in pure gratitude for the ever-renewing gifts of life, and love.
